Samsung
is starting to roll out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE version in the UK, even as rumours are rife that Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 will skip the 4.2 step and jump straight on to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean bandwagon.
The update for Galaxy Note 8.0 follows Android 4.2 updates to the Galaxy Tab 2.8.0 and then the S2 Plus. The update seems to be rolling out in phases according to SamMobile, and is only available to owners within the UK currently. The update will be rolling out OTA or you can choose to update your Galaxy Note 8.0 through Samsung KIES.
Samsung is, in the meanwhile, pushing its lesser-used handsets to Android 4.2, including Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus and some iterations of Samsung Galaxy Tab. The handset manufacturer clearly considers Android 4.2 to be a tiny stepping stone between versions 4.1 and 4.3. It will, in all probability, be helping its flagship devices like Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 take that leap to be up-to-date.
